Ordinances

These are the most frequently cited ordinances in the Borough of Robesonia, for a complete list contact the Borough office.

Animals

 

The Borough’s Joint Zoning Ordinance, Section 403.D.11.b, states “No use shall involve the keeping of animals or fowl in such a manner or of such types of animals that it creates a serious nuisance (including noise or odor), a health hazard or a public safety hazard.  The owner of the animals shall be responsible for collecting and properly disposing of all fecal matter from pets.”
 

Also, Ordinance 1977-15, (Section 3) states it is unlawful for the owner of an animal to allow such animal to defecate upon any street, sidewalk, park or other public place unless the owner immediately removes and disposes of all fecal matter in a sanitary manner.  Section 4 of the same ordinance states it is unlawful for the owner of any animal to allow such animal to defecate on the private property of another without the permission of the owners of such property.

Section 22B of the Nuisances Ordinance from the Code of Ordinances, Borough of Robesonia, states that it is unlawful to own, possess, harbor or control any animal or bird which makes noise continuously and/or incessantly for a period of ten (10 minutes) or makes such noise intermittently for one-half (1/2)  hour or more to the disturbance of any person any time of the day or night.
 

Part 1, Section 2 of the Animal Ordinance from the Code of Ordinances, Borough of Robesonia, states that it is unlawful to allow any animal to run at large within the Borough of Robesonia (Ordinance 1977-15).

 

ORDINANCE 2017-4 makes it unlawful for any person to continue to feed stray or feral cats, where such feeding causes a nuisance to neighbors or creates a condition contrary to the health, safety, and welfare of the community, unless such person participates in a Trap, Neuter & Release program managed by the Borough or Sponsor of the Borough.

 

ORDINANCE 2018-4 requires all dogs to be firmly secured on a collar and leash of not more than six feet (6') while in any public place or on property of another person within the borough.

Grass/Weeds

Borough of Robesonia Ordinance 1977-20 states no person, firm or corporation owning or occupying any property within the Borough of Robesonia shall permit any grass or weeds or any vegetation whatsoever, not edible or planted for some useful or ornamental purpose, to exceed a height of 6 inches (6”).

Scrap/Refuse/Rubbish

Section 21 of the Nuisances Ordinance from the Code of Ordinances, Borough of Robesonia, which states it is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to store or allow to be stored  any scrap metal, including old, inoperable or unlicensed vehicles, or any excessive amount of scrap, refuse or rubbish, in such a manner as to constitute a nuisance or which tends to depreciate adjoining properties.

Unlicensed Vehicles

Chapter X, Section 21of The Borough of Robesonia Code of Ordinances states that it is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to store or allow to be stored  any scrap metal, including old, inoperable or unlicensed vehicles, or any excessive amount of scrap, refuse or rubbish, in such a manner as to constitute a nuisance or which tends to depreciate adjoining properties.

Snow/Ice Removal

Ordinance 1977-25 states the owner, occupant or tenant of every property fronting upon or alongside any street in the Borough is required to remove all snow and ice upon all sidewalks within twenty-four (24) hours from the time the precipitation ceased falling or forming.

Street Parking / Snow Removal: Ordinance 2006-4, Section 1: 
Section 2 of Ordinance No. 4-1996 is hereby amended and restated as follows:

A. Upon the completion of any snow storm, all vehicles shall be moved from all Borough streets within 12 (twelve) hours following the completion of such snow storm to allow for plowing, salting and/or cindering.
